TLD Statistics Pages On HosterStats.com

A top hoster statistics page for each of the gTLDs that HosterStats.com tracks will be added over the next few days. It is no suprise that the leader in the most of the gTLDs is Godaddy. It has approximately 21.6% of the market share in com/net/org/biz/info and occupies the top position in .mobi and .asia TLDs. The format of the pages will probably be a top 10 or top 20 hosters. A set of  ICANN registrars market share pages will also appear next week.

The top of the domain hosting market is dominated by a few hosters with millions of domains hosted. This is a typical thing in mature domain markets. The newer TLDs tend to be more mixed but ccTLDs differ considerably. The ccTLDs are more likely to be dominated by the larger hosters in that country’s market rather than by one of the US based super hosters like Godaddy or Enom.

The stats for all hosters are available on the site – they are searchable by the domain name of their nameservers (eg: blacknight.com for Blacknight Solutions). I haven’t updated the IEDR Reseller lists though. It is something that I may do in the next week.
