HosterStats.com also tracks the domain statistics for approximately three million web hosters based on nameservers.  This involves tracking the movements of domains through each covered Top Level Domain each month and providing a fully searchable database of domain names and hoster statistics. This blog, apart from providing some commentary on domain name and web hosting issues, also provides some insight into what makes the HosterStats.com website and databases work.

The server itself is just an Intel P4 based box with 4GB of RAM. The website itself has been serving around 100,000 pages a day for the last few months. Much of this has been due to the main search engines, (Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu) indexing the website.
