HosterStats.com: .mobi Domain Name Registrations 2007-2011

The graph below shows the pattern of domain name registrations in the .mobi TLD over the period 2007 to 2011. The spike in deletions in April 2008 is due to some of the early Sunrise domains being dropped. The real Landrush anniversary drops start in September 2008. They peak with the January 2009 figures and then fall off until June 2009 when .mobi begins to grow again. There is an echo of the Landrush anniversary drops starting with the September 2009 figures and these seem to peak with the December 2009 figures. The large number of new domain name registrations shown in the November 2009 figure is due to the launch of IDN domain names by the mTLD registry. Most of these new domain name registrations were Chinese IDNs and were largely concentrated on one hoster.

The graph shows the new domain registration, deleted domain names, transferred domain names counts at the start of each month from April 2007 to the present. The tracking of .mobi sTLD began with in April 2007.
